Although Quilts on the Rocks is not a formally Judged Show, we do present several awards for pieces
entered. Most are cash and ribbon awards.

All members who enter quilted or stitched pieces into the show or contribute items to the boutique and
silent auction, as well as our Life Members are eligible to judge our Peer Recognition Awards.

Criteria for the Peer Recognition awards are as
follows:

Peer Recognition- Quilting and Peer Recognition Wall Quilt smaller than 180”-
Must be completed entirely by the member submitting the entry

Peer Recognition- Stitchery and Peer Recognition
Unframed Stitchery
Must be completed entirely by the member submitting the entry. Framed pieces can be framed professionally.

Vena Mietins Award for Original Stitchery
Must be of original design and completed entirely by the member, sponsored by the late Vena Mietins (Life Member). Framed pieces can be framed professionally.

Lila Christine Conroy Award for Novice Quilter
Must be new to quilting since the last show and the
entry must be completed entirely by the member, sponsored by Mary Conroy (Life Member)

Ballots will be distributed at Intake or can be obtained from Daintry Chitaroni at the show.

Other awards include:

Simone Landry Award for Hand Quilting will be
chosen by Joscelyne Landry-Altmann

The Country Quilter Award for Quilting and the Country Quilter Award for Stitchery are chosen by Pat Jacobson, owner of The Country Quilter Quilt Shop

Viewers’ Choice for Quilting and Viewers’ Choice for Stitchery are chosen by the attending public.

The Country Quilter Award and the Viewers’ Choice Award are not limited to being completed entirely by the member- i.e. they may be quilted by another
person.
